Running Assessments on the Devices You Already Have
Device, browser, and connectivity requirements for True Progress student assessments.
Device compatibility
True Progress assessments run in a web browser on Windows and Mac computers, Chromebooks, iPads, and Android tablets. There is no testing application to install or maintain on individual devices.
What each device needs
Device requirements
- —A supported device
A Windows or Mac PC or laptop, a Chromebook, an iPad, or an Android tablet. - —A current web browser
Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Apple Safari. True Progress officially supports browsers and operating systems released within the past twelve months. - —A screen resolution of at least 1024 × 768 pixels
- —An active internet connection
True Progress uses approximately 20 kilobits per second per student during simultaneous testing. - —Headphones or earbuds
Audio narration is integrated into many assessments, so students need headphones or earbuds when audio is used.
A note for younger students
For younger students working on a laptop, a plug-in mouse is worth having on hand. The built-in trackpad can be difficult for small children, and a mouse can make the assessment easier to navigate.
Keeping devices current
Official support
True Progress officially supports browsers and operating systems released within the past twelve months. Older systems and browsers may still run the assessments, but True Progress does not test new releases on platforms more than one year old and cannot guarantee full functionality on them.
We recommend keeping devices, operating systems, and browsers up to date.
Sign-on
Clever and ClassLink
True Progress supports single sign-on through Clever and ClassLink, allowing students and staff to use their existing school credentials.
